Essence Bloom Me Up! Blush Stick Mini Review

How funny is it that my nails matched the packaging? That actually had nothing to do with buying this, I promise. I've almost bought some other drugstore blush sticks before but I've always turned away from them since they're like little pink disco balls. The other day I was in Fred Meyer (is that a Pacific Northwest thing only?) and I saw this little guy on a new display. I opened it up and much to my pleasure it's matte without any shimmer! Woohoo!

The barcode on this says "01 Chaising Lacy" so I'm assuming that's the color name, but this was the only color I saw on the summer Essence display. Online however, there's a "02 Blooming Tender" peachy color and I'd like to get my hands on that as well! I went ahead and swatched the blush when I got home and I do really like the color. The texture is also really nice-- it's really soft when you blend it in and it melts into your skin. In the swatch picture, it looks kind of clumpy but that's only because I ran it back and forth to get a strong color payoff. With one swipe it's just a small deposit of coral. Like I mentioned, it's so easy to blend out and it looks really natural (my mom even commented on that!). I tested this out on my cheeks today and it stays for quite a while and granted it was only two or three dollars, so I don't mind any reapplication.
I'm really impressed with this little blush! I hope Essence comes out with even more cream blushes since this one is so pretty.

May Hair Empties 2014!

I've recently finished quite a few products, but I figured I should split it up because there's so many hair products. This post is going to be just the hair empties and I'll do another one later. I'm skipping my May favorites this month like I anticipated since I only have three products as of right now. Hopefully I'll have more opportunities to experiment this month!

| Suave Dry Shampoo | $2.89
I've already repurchased this! It's my go-to dry shampoo (rhyming unintended). It smells great, works really well, and blends in really naturally to my hair. I can still feel that I have dry shampoo in my though, and Meghan Rienks said in a recent video that the Batise ones aren't like that, so that may be my next victim. ;) Especially since I now have an Ulta less than 20 MINUTES away!

| Tresemme Thermal Creations Heat Tamer | $3.99
I have a tiny bit of another heat protectant left, so I haven't purchased a new one yet. I wasn't all that impressed with this stuff, probably because I had high expectations from Youtubers. It does smell really good but it makes my hair feel kind of weird. You can definitely feel that I have something in my hair, however it doesn't make it soft. I don't think I'm going to repurchase this guy.

| One 'n Only Brazilian Tech Keratin Kurl Moisturizing Shampoo and Conditioner | $8.99
This shampoo was too moisturizing for me. I liked the conditioner, but my scalp doesn't need a whole lot of hydrating like this gives. I purchased the Not Your Mother's Way to Grow shampoo and conditioner instead of it and I love it way more than these ones. If you have dry hair this would probably work wonderfully!

| It's a 10 Miracle Leave In Product | $9.99
I don't know if I've mentioned this before but I have naturally frizzy hair. I've always heard really good things about It's a 10 so I thought I'd try it out. This smells so good! Do you sense a pattern? I love smelly hair things. It's a really thick cream that you can apply in wet or dry hair. I tried both (alone and together) and the tamed frizz never lasted for very long. For $10 I would expect this to work better. I may try the "plus keratin" version soon to see if that fares any better in my hair. Presently I'm not planning on repurchasing.

| Herbal Essences Moroccan My Shine Conditioner | $2.99
I'm always trying out new conditioners, and I recently found the end of this bottle when I was trying to finish my Keratin shampoo. This, again, smells wonderful. I don't think it makes my hair exceptionally shiny or soft, but it definitely improves the look and feel of my hair. I wouldn't say it's a drastic change, but it does do what it claims to. I may repurchase this sometime when I want to switch up my hair routine again.

| Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Conditioner | $2.99
I used to use the shampoo and conditioner throughout middle school and especially on vacation. I absolutely love the smell, partially because of nostalgia but also because it just smells awesome. It definitely makes my hair softer, and I know I'll eventually buy it again, since I always do. However, I also like exploring other options and right now I'm loving my Not Your Mother's.

That's all the hair empties I have for you right now! See why I split them up? I'll have to wait for a bit to post my other empties; I only have a few right now.

Market Peach Lip Butter First Impression

Let me first apologize for the unsightly scratches on the lid. This little baby floated around in the zipper pocket of my purse for a week before I had the time to take pictures of it. I wanted to photograph it before I used it since it looked so dang pretty and matte.
I just used it for the first time and boy let me tell you, it smells sooooo good. I already knew that though, since that's mostly why I bought it in the first place. I was actually watching one of Amarixe's videos (in particular her Bath and Body Works Haul), and she mentioned that they had released the Market Peach scent in a variety of other forms other than candle (insert an excited jig here). I love the market peach scent in general, and I'm so glad it's not just a candle this year. I also bought the hand sanitizer and it's marvelous as well. Anywho, I bought this puppy for $8.00, which I originally thought was a bit surprising. It is quite a bit of product however, and I've seen similar lip products for more. It melts into a shiny cream that has no color on the lips, but it does leave shininess in on the top of the butter in the package as well. Once it's on the lips for a bit, the scent seems to kind of wear away. I don't notice the scent as much unless I make a (super cute) face and push my mouth towards my nose. Little known fact, I can also lick my nose (don't be too impressed, now). I do really like this. The packaging is nice and metal, and the lid twists on which is awesome since there's less of a chance of it opening in my purse. I think I can finally put away my Reve De Miel and save it for emergency lip chappings since this butter is pretty hydrating. My lips have had kind of a verging-on-chapped time for the past two months, and I've been keeping my most nourishing balm handy. Hopefully this little guy can help keep my dryness at bay. I'm not kidding when I say that I have lip balm of some kind on all day every day. I don't like the feeling of even slightly dry lips. Rambling aside, I'm impressed with this so far. I'll come back with a review later, once I feel I've fully tested it out.
